Aston Martin Valkyrie

The new Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar was launched to the public in July 2019 at the Silverstone British Grand Prix. In my opinion this car should have had its first unveiling to the public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019. Well at least it has been officially launched & now running in an almost finished version, pretty much just needing number plates!

I can’t wait to see & experience the sound of the Valkyrie. One thing for sure is you’re not going to see these very often, if at all on the public highway. My anticipation is focused on the levels of performance we will see around a track & on the road. The 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph & the 0-200 mph I’m expecting to be record breaking times. Also the 0-100-0 mph should be outstanding, my prediction being 5.85 seconds. The acceleration, braking & cornering G forces are likely to be the most impressive stats for this Hypercar. The downforce may be in the region of 1.8 Tonnes, so we can certainly expect a Red Bull upside down tunnel spectacle, at some point in the future.

Having not yet seen the Valkyrie close up & personal thus far, I’m hoping to see this incredible Hypercar later this year & for sure during 2020.

I wonder if we will ever see an Autocar Road Test for the Valkyrie? Maybe the skill sets of the regular magazine test drivers may not be enough to get the maximum from this formula 1 inspired car. I’m guessing the talents of Max Verstappen or David Coulthard (who has just placed an order for a Valkyrie) or Lewis Hamilton may be required – who would love to give a Red Bull a serious thrashing on track!

Now that the Valkyrie is very close to the 1st production car leaving the factory, maybe we will also see a Honda F1 Hybrid Engine powering a very similar Hypercar, much like the Mercedes Project One Hypercar, a radical (and expensive decision for Honda) but surely a worthy project for Honda to consider?

The cornering speeds of the Valkyrie are going to be immense & groundbreaking, even for a Hypercar & the track version may even rival a modern F1 Racing Car for some corners.

The future looks very bright for the Aston Martin Red Bull Valkyrie & I intend to cover this car in great detail.
