Ferrari LaFerrari
The Ferrari LaFerrari – the Italian contribution to the Holy Trinity of Hybrid Hypercars. The road presence of the LaFerrari is simply awesome paying homage to Formula 1 & several previous supercar Ferrari’s – the 288 GTO, F40, F50 & Enzo each having styling cues embodied in the complete bodywork & aerodynamics of the LaFerrari.
The LaFerrari sits very low being only 43.9 inches high. From this angle the car looks small & compact – perfection! This particular example at the time belonged to Chris Evans.
Blood Red in my opinion is just the best colour for the LaFerrari!
The front nose of the car is a work of art with its integral F1 inspired front wing.
How many of the production run of 499 cars will you see on the road? – not many I doubt as most LaFerrari’s live in their masters car collection, motionless. This is rather sad as this hypercar is a spectacular car to see & hear, when it’s on the road. It’s probably more of an experience for spectators, than even for the owner driving the car! Unlike a Ferrari F40, this car will almost drive itself purring along, almost without any effort from the driver. Most serious car collectors will have both the F40 & the LaFerrari in their collection.
It’s quite difficult to get a photo from above of the LaFerrari but you can see the flowing design, exquisitely sculpted for cutting through the air.
If you think the V12 sound of the F12 & F12 TDF are pretty awesome & indeed they are amongst the best sounding car engines in the world, then the LaFerrari V12 takes the V12 sound to another higher level.
The LaFerrari looks like it is doing 200 mph even when resting!
Possibly the best car in the World to polish with one’s own hands!
The aggressive & functional stance at the rear view of the LaFerrari is perfection. One of my cars that I previously owned was a Sunbeam Stiletto, which in my opinion also has an extremely purposeful & functional rear end, from a car design 52 years ago! Hopefully I can demonstrate this in a future blog.
