Vauxhall Viva SL90

My 3rd Car was a Vauxhall Viva SL90 in green. It was a rare find even at the time, with a high compression engine with a power output of 59.5 bhp!  Looking back I cannot believe that this car weighed in at 777 kg. There were quite a few faults with this car including a fair bit of rust, so after falling for the headline figures (the SL90) it probably wasn’t one of my better buys. After some manual tuning work on the engine, hoping to realise its full power potential, we set off on a test run, noting how nippy the car was. A short while later we heard some noisy vibrations coming from under the car, we quickly returned home to check over the car. To our surprise all the wheel nuts were working loose! A schoolboy error, in our eagerness to test the car one of us had forgotten to tighten up the wheel nuts. I can’t remember who took the blame for this – but a good lesson for future was embedded in my memory banks

Yeah I was a sucker for Chrome at the time! A cool number plate though! Sadly this car no longer exists.
