Volvo 144

My 6th Car was another White Volvo, a 4 door 144 model. Sadly I don’t have an actual photo of this car or details of the car registration plate. I did miss my 2 door version the 142, but the 144 was almost an equivalent car in terms of reliability & fun to drive factor. The car was very cheap to purchase. Hard use necessitated a replacement gearbox, with the car ultimately ending up being transported away to the scrapyard. This was at a time when you actually got paid from the scrap dealer to remove your car!

A truly handsome car in my opinion. As with many of my previous early cars, I rarely see one being driven on the road, if in fact just one example!
